Location: Troy, TX
What You’ll Do- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, and differentials
- Perform preventive maintenance (oil, filters, belts, hoses, fluids)
- Repair suspension, brakes, steering, U-bolts, and frames
- Read and use diagnostic codes, schematics, and service manuals
- Perform welding and fabrication when needed
- Conduct road tests to verify repairs
- Respond to mobile/roadside service calls as required
- Document work: labor hours, parts, and service notes
- Maintain shop safety, cleanliness, and organization
- Assist with parts ordering and inventory
- Mentor junior techs when needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a diesel or heavy-duty technician
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
- Experience with engines, transmissions, drive lines, suspension
- Comfort using diagnostic tools, meters, torque tools
- Welding/fabrication skills (preferred)
- Ability to read manuals and schematics
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus or willingness to obtain)
- Physically able to lift heavy parts and work under vehicles
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
- Mobile or roadside diesel repair experience
- DOT inspection knowledge
- Fleet maintenance experience
- Shop and roadside environments
- Exposure to noise, grease, heat, and outdoor conditions
- Use of heavy tools, lifts, welding equipment
- Lifting 50–100+ lbs
- Occasional overtime or emergency calls
