NOC Technician

We are a Hudson Oaks, Texas-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) delivering high-speed Internet and Voice Services throughout multiple states to residential, business, K-12 education and government customers. Under general supervision, for monitoring and taking corrective action on infrastructure within a 24/7/365 NOC environment. Team responsible for supporting an IP network and telecommunications infrastructure for Next Link equipment.

• Monitor switching, digital, optical, wireless and associated telecommunications equipment.
• Perform fault analysis, isolation and remediation in switching, digital, optical, wireless and other technologies.
• Maintain accurate records in a variety of tracking resources.
• Develop extensive knowledge of Next Link Broadband products and services, including carrier, fiber, and all commercial and residential products offered by Next Link Broadband.
• Provide single point of contact duties for high-risk & service-impacting events.
• Open and refer trouble tickets to the appropriate level of support.
• Escalate network problems both internally and externally.
• Interface with customers, engineers, vendors and technicians to resolve trouble reports.

• Highly motivated, very organized, and can multi‑task.
• Experience with routers and switches.
• SNMP experience.
• Basic routing experience.
• Basic wireless experience.

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a one‑year college or technical school; or two‑year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• CCNA or Network+ (or equivalents are desirable, not required).

NOC Exempt.

Working conditions primarily inside an office environment. Noise level is usually moderate. High level of interaction with external/internal clients.

• Able to frequently move, transport, and position objects of 50 pounds or more.
• Stationary position for 8-10 hours a day.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
• Frequent communication via email and verbally via telephone.

Full‑time. Ability to work off hours, weekends or night shift as required to support a 24/7 NOC.

Able to travel 0-10% of the time.
