Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and fleet assets in a safe and efficient manner. This position is responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment reliability to support daily operations. A company truck will be provided for work-related travel and field support.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting experience, and the ability to work independently in fast-paced field environments while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment, engines, compressors, pumps, vehicles, and related systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues
- Inspect equipment and identify maintenance or repair needs
- Diagnose failures and recommend corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Maintain and repair engines, rotating equipment, valves, hoses, and associated components
- Complete maintenance documentation, service reports, and work orders accurately and timely
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance personnel to prioritize repairs and support field activities
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company-provided vehicle in good working condition
- Assist with emergency repairs and call-outs as needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and training activities
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or trade certification preferred
- Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, heavy equipment repair, compressor maintenance, fleet maintenance, or related field
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience working with engines, compressors, pumps, and rotating equipment preferred
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical documents
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and safety procedures
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift equipment/materials as needed
- Willingness to travel locally to support field operations when required
Pay: $20-$25/per hr
Per Diem: $75/per day
