Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all M & E including air-conditioning and refrigerated equipment including all sanitary, steam, hot and cold-water fittings, pumps. Ensure that all such equipments are working satisfactorily and efficiently through the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
Service and repair all electrical and mechanical equipment such as meters, starters, switch gears, fittings, wiring, vacuum machines, cables and all electrically operated machines throughout the hotel
Install new starters including wiring and laying of cables, sockets, conducts, exhaust fans, doorbells, television sets, automatic doors, light fittings, etc
Run new wiring and cables, also all electrical fittings, lighting points, power points, fuse boxes, isolators, etc
Observe and report any equipment, switch gears or wiring circuits which are not functioning properly and rectifying the same including MCB, SSB and ACB
Instruct and guide junior electricians (new staff) on the repair and service procedures of all electrical equipment
Inspect and replace all fused lamps inside and outside of the hotel, including grounds and garden lights and swimming pools
To take readings for all electrical systems, air-conditioning systems and Heat Pumps
Service, repair and maintain all fan coils, air handling units, cold rooms, freezers and all other refrigerated equipment throughout the hotel
Carry out planned and preventive maintenance programs for servicing as directed by supervisors
Maintain daily log sheets for recording of temperatures and pressures of all air-conditioning chillers, freezers and cold room and changing of temperature recording charts should be carried out once a week
To assist other technicians to perform other jobs as required by the Management
Observe and report any unusual signs, sound pressure or temperature or equipment which is likely to lead to malfunction
To switch on / off aircon in hotel areas when requested and to follow schedule for aircon servicing
To assist other technicians to perform other jobs as required by the Management
To carry out any other duties as and when directed by supervisors / the Management
Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
Able to work under pressure
Willing to work rotating shifts and weekends (including public holidays)
Relevant experience in hospitality industry will be an added advantage
