Structural Welder
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Structural Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in welding structural steel components for commercial, industrial, or construction projects. This role involves reading blueprints, performing high quality welds, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. Primarily performing flux core welding.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform structural welding using SMAW, FCAW, and/or GMAW processes.
* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
* Fit, weld, and assemble structural steel components.
* Conduct welds that meet AWS D1.1 or project specific specifications.
* Inspect welds to ensure proper penetration, bead quality, and conformance to standards.
* Operate cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
* Work safely at heights, on scaffolding, and around heavy equipment.
* Follow all company, OSHA, and site specific safety protocols.
Qualifications
* Highly skilled Structural or Industrial Welder with strong Flux Core welding experience required.
* Proficiency in SMAW / Stick welding; FCAW experience a plus.
* Ability to pass a weld test prior to employment.
* Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection.
* Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environmental conditions
Preferred Certifications
* AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification
* OSHA 10 or 30
* Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform, or Rigging certifications
MUST PASS Weld Test and Fit-Up Test
* 1G flat weld test on 1/2 inch plate
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday 7-5:30
Starting pay will be $19 - $20 but can move up if testing is highly qualified
