Position: Fleet Maintenance Technician 3
Location: Waller

As a FLEET MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN 3, you provide technical support, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance duties as assigned and respond to breakdowns in a professional and timely manner while following all safety protocols. Working knowledge of Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems. You will work with a cross-functional team to ensure requirements, needs and implementations will satisfy Daikin expectations.

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform established preventative maintenance programs
  • Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation
  • Assist management with scheduling fleet maintenance projects
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and machine manuals, electrical blueprints/schematics
  • Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain good 6S housekeeping standards
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs
  • Reads work order and observes and listens to truck in operation to determine malfunction/diagnose the problem(s). Record all work in FIIX CMMS
  • Makes mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdown has been completed. Maintain accurate and complete departmental records
  • Records complete repair description on work order, including the correct model and the serial number of equipment and record hour meter reading
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and adjust
  • Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications
  • Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to mechanical assemblies
  • Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems
  • Remove and replace work or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system
  • Realign and adjust components such as spindles, clutches, ball screws, and others as required
  • Start machines and equipment to test operation following inspection
  • Provide written reports of inspection findings and recommendations for repair
  • Ability to trouble‑shoot and repair maintain, and rebuild all production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and diesel‑powered heavy equipment
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. Responds to calls from production and management to make repairs on assets
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Works under direct supervision and follows written/verbal instructions to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Independently perform assignments after given general instructions as to results expected
  • Resolves routine questions and problems, coordinate complex issues to others

Knowledge & Skills
  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, ability to read and understand electrical schematics, good written/verbal communication skills, and good customer care skills
  • Safe work habits, following proper LOTO and other OSHA requirements
  • Ability to diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic issues and complete repairs
  • Ability to install, assemble and test new machines and equipment
  • Strong mechanical and Industrial experience
  • Ability to monitor, identify, and correct signs of malfunctions.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Able to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures
  • Able to PM equipment in assigned area
  • Able to Assist and guide LOTO procedures
  • Able to identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain company maintenance tools, including 480 volt and 3 phase electric voltmeter, and able to use.
