Senior Maintenance Worker

The purpose of this position is to monitor, repair and maintain grounds and facilities as part of a team for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). This is accomplished by maintaining, repairing, cleaning, and renovating BRA facilities, parks, and equipment and providing routine grounds maintenance. This position performs building maintenance by painting, installing carpet, providing plumbing repairs and assisting with electrical repairs and installations;

and performs grounds maintenance by cleaning and maintaining parks and restrooms; mowing; weed-eating; trimming trees; fertilizing; operating sprinkler systems; repairing cement and rock work fixtures; constructing and repairing fences, gates, picnic tables, awnings and buildings; completing welding and fabrication as needed on facilities and equipment; and using heavy equipment such as dump trucks, front end loaders, cranes, compressors, jack hammers, boats, and tractors to perform necessary maintenance and repairs.

Other duties include assisting with dam operations, performing routine equipment maintenance, daily record keeping, interacting and providing customer service with other employees and any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of four years' experience or equivalent education
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and Good Driving Record
  • Preferred:
    Commercial Drivers License or Texas Class B Driver's License;
    Welding Certification;
    Crane Operator Certification and/or Refrigerant Certification
  • High School Diploma - Awarded for the completion of High School.

Starting Salary Range

$21.53 to $27.45 per hour. This is a non-exempt position.
