This full-time Diesel Technician role is a hybrid position based in Kempner, TX, with some flexibility for work-from-home tasks such as documentation, parts ordering, and remote diagnostics support. On a day-to-day basis, the Diesel Technician will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on off-highway heavy equipment and commercial trucks. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, completing accurate work orders, and ensuring all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
The role involves traveling to customer sites as needed, using company tools and service vehicles when provided. The Diesel Technician will also communicate clearly with customers and the internal team regarding repair status, timelines, and any recommended follow-up work.
- Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance for diesel engines, heavy equipment, and commercial trucks.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Maintenance & Repair, including diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Customer Service skills to communicate clearly with clients, explain repairs, and represent the company professionally on-site.
- Experience using diagnostic tools, service manuals, and electronic systems for modern diesel engines is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work safely in field environments, lift and handle heavy components, and follow all safety and environmental procedures.
- Prior experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role in heavy equipment or commercial truck repair preferred.
- Relevant technical training, certification, or vocational education in diesel technology or heavy equipment repair is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while managing multiple service calls and deadlines.
