Overview
The Residential AV Technician works independently and as part of a team to install and configure home automation, audio/video, and related systems in residential environments. This role delivers high-quality workmanship, maintains professionalism on-site, and ensures client satisfaction. The technician has a solid working knowledge of AV systems and installation techniques and is motivated to continue learning and advancing within the company.

- Install, connect, and configure AV systems including speakers, TVs, projectors, home theaters, and distributed audio/video systems
- Run and terminate low voltage cabling for AV, network, and control systems
- Mount TVs, racks, and other system hardware safely and cleanly
- Complete system setup and testing to ensure functionality and performance
- Perform basic troubleshooting of installed systems
- Assist with lighting, shading, surveillance, and security installations under guidance
- Maintain project documentation and report daily progress to the Project Manager
- Collaborate with senior technicians and other team members to complete installations efficiently
- Exhibit professionalism, cleanliness, and excellent customer service on every job site
- Follow company safety and quality standards at all times
- Continue to develop knowledge through training, certifications, and hands‑on experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of AV field experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of control systems (Control4, RTI, URC, Savant, etc.) preferred
- PCNA or comparable networking certification a plus
- Strong understanding of AV components, signal flow, and connectivity
- Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams, floor plans, and scopes of work
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Detail‑oriented and organized; able to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong problem‑solving skills and initiative in the field
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work on ladders, lifts, and at elevated heights
- Clean background check and drivers check required
