Technician (Journeyman and Apprentice)
This role offers an opportunity for skilled technicians, including Journeyman and Apprentice levels, to work on a variety of construction projects involving electrical installations. You will perform hands-on work such as installing conduit and wiring, reading and following blueprints and schematics, and assisting with mechanical and electrical systems in an outdoor construction environment. Journeyman technicians will take on more advanced tasks and may oversee aspects of installation and troubleshooting, while apprentices will build their skills under guidance.
Responsibilities- Install electrical systems and components on various construction projects.
- Install, run, and secure conduit for electrical wiring, including performing precise conduit bending.
- Pull and route electrical wire and cable according to project requirements and safety standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to complete installations accurately.
- Assist with installation and connection of switch gear and related electrical equipment.
- Perform electrical wiring tasks, ensuring all work complies with applicable codes and standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and assist in diagnosing problems with wiring, conduit, and equipment.
- Support mechanical aspects of electrical installations as needed on job sites.
- Work collaboratively with forepersons and other team members to complete projects on schedule.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on outdoor construction sites.
- Experience as an Apprentice Technician with approximately 2–4 years of relevant field experience.
- Ability to install and run conduit for electrical systems.
- Proficiency in conduit bending using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Hands-on experience with electrical wiring and pulling wire and cable.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and components.
- Familiarity with installation and handling of switch gear and related equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude to support electrical and mechanical installation tasks.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in an outdoor construction environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and project plans.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on construction sites or in a similar field environment.
- Prior exposure to schematic reading and interpretation for electrical projects.
- Comfort using hand and power tools commonly used in electrical and mechanical installations.
- Willingness to work a consistent daytime schedule and adapt to project needs.
- Interest in growing from an apprentice to a more experienced technician role over time.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based primarily outdoors on active construction sites. You will work a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with tasks that involve physical activity such as standing, bending, lifting, and working with tools and materials. The environment includes exposure to weather conditions, construction equipment, and electrical components, requiring adherence to safety practices and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
The work involves hands-on use of tools for conduit bending, wiring, cable pulling, and installation of electrical and mechanical systems in a field setting.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McGregor, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
