Eaton’s EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking an Electro‑Mechanical Maintenance Technician for the 3rd Shift.
Location:
Amarillo, TX (facility). The hourly rate will increase as follows:
Step1: $28.88 per hour. After 45 days Step2: $32.49 per hour. After 90 days Step3: $36.10 per hour.
- Install equipment/machinery.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Complete and maintain maintenance logs and associated documentation.
- Maintain and secure tools and repair equipment; maintain/clean work areas.
- Communicate equipment/plant status as required.
- Maintain and follow all safety requirements and ensure compliance by maintenance personnel.
- Operate a variety of lifts, etc.
- Work with Operations team members and leaders in the work area to ensure uptime on equipment and that repairs are complete and effective with operations.
- Share learnings and train/cross‑train with coworkers to ensure knowledge is shared by maintenance team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required (Basic) Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
- Five years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of Amarillo, TX are considered. Active‑Duty Military Service members are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in metals fabrication.
- Ability to utilize hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematic.
- Familiarity with wastewater treatment.
- Ability to modify or program PLC’s and HMI’s is a plus.
- Work in various locations, including confined spaces and at varied heights using fall protection, permits, and other safety processes and procedures including lockout/tagout.
- Able to stand continuously during shift and lift 50lbs without assistance (40lbs routinely).
- PPE required includes safety glasses, steel‑toe shoes, leather gloves, and hearing protection as required in high‑noise areas.
- Environment exposure includes sharp objects, pinch points, oil.
- Familiarity with basic mechanical principles and shop maintenance tools.
- Advanced skills in one or more of:
Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, PLC troubleshooting and repair. - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and parts breakdown.
- Basic skills in reading, arithmetic and writing in English.
- Dexterity for and ability to operate equipment, machinery, and computers (Windows, MS Office, industrial software).
- Working knowledge of equipment operations, tooling, machining operations, and product.
- Familiarity with safety standards such as electrical safety, arc flash, lock‑out/tag‑out.
- Familiarity with DC and AC power up to three‑phase 480V AC.
- Able to read ladder logic and utilize PLC for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and controls issues.
- Capable of welding, pipe fitting, rigging.
- Ability to work around molten metal and in a production environment that is at times very hot or very cold, and subject to unexpected swings of overtime.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with all employees throughout plant.
- Employee must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment with large manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to perform basic computer functions: use SAP, eSafety, MESH Prism.
