Job Overview

Primoris Heavy Civil is hiring skilled road laborers in Corrigan, TX.

Perform a variety of manual duties, typically working in a utility capacity, moving from one project or task to another with minimal supervision. Duties include supporting infrastructure projects such as road repairs, paving, drainage systems, and general site clean‑up.

• Measure distance from grade stakes, drive stakes, stretch tight line, and grade stacks from lumber for reuse.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications with shovel to assist in pipe laying, preparing sub‑grades and other excavations.
• Direct other laborers in dumping concrete into forms.
• Erect shoring and braces and paint pipe joints with sealing compound.
• Assist in setting pumps and setting well‑points.
• Assist heavy construction equipment operators in aligning and moving equipment such as cranes, power shovels and backhoes; verify grades and signal operators to adjust machines to conform to grade specifications.
• Direct truck drivers and scraper operators to dumping positions to maintain grades as directed by Grading Foreman or Dumping Foreman.
• Work in a concrete paving crew, adding to or removing concrete from in front of concrete finishing machines so that correct grade is met.
• Occasionally use small power tools.
• May work as lead man in a labor crew.
• Exercise independent judgment to plan routine work; accept responsibility for multiple phases and expedite that work without being told or explained the procedure.

• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
• Work extended hours on foot, including on uneven or rough surfaces.
