Position Summary
The Certified Crane Operator is a safety focused professional with the ability to construct and repair electrical systems. You will be required to travel to different job sites, including out‑of‑state locations, as operational and customer needs dictate. You will report to the Foreman.
Essential Functions- Operate Cranes and Boom Trucks to perform new construction, maintain and repair electrical systems.
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
- Inspect the crane or boom truck, cribbing and outriggers.
- Oversee the setup of the crane and/or boom truck with correct rigging techniques.
- Read load charts and rigging techniques along with writing up lift plans.
- Willing and able to learn the job duties of a Groundman, Class C Lineman and Heavy Equipment Operator.
- While not operating the Crane or Boom Truck you will assist the crew with shoveling dirt and tamp pole holes.
- Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
- Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
- Follow all safety protocols including PPE use.
- Three (3) or more years of experience, seven (7) year preferred.
- Possess a NCCCO certification and possess a crane operator's card.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Valid DOT certification.
- Must be able to operate a drill rig.
- Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out‑of‑state assignments.
- Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

While performing the responsibilities of this job, you will be required to talk, listen and use hand signals to communicate. The job frequently requires you to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle objects, operate tools or controls;
reach with hands and arms.
While performing the responsibilities of this job, you are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. You will perform job responsibilities in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions.
