Responsibilities

Core Accountabilities while working with Electrical Engineer

  • Support operations by monitoring and addressing electrical maintenance needs.
  • Installation, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls – Allen Bradley PLCs, automation controllers, HMIs.
  • Rotate shifts periodically and troubleshoot issues related to electrical welding methods. Handle high voltage (3‑phase, 480V).
  • Oversee periodic inspections, tests, and maintenance procedures on equipment to preserve and perpetuate proper functionality.
  • Assist with interpretations of terminations; read schematics and understand root problems.
  • Install and connect power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctions in equipment and repair/replace as needed.
  • Communicate electrical issues to engineering and plant management.
Additional Duties

Temporarily assume the duties and responsibilities of other roles as directed by management. All safety and operational parameters of the assumed role apply.

Qualifications

Experience:

Journeyman preferred, 2+ years experience. High School diploma or GED equivalent; certification or license may be required.

Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to work overtime to meet operational needs.
  • Acute visual ability: observe product nonconformance, strong close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
  • Perform intense manual labor with long work hours; stand, bend, stoop, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move around work area.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with arms.
  • Lift and carry up to 55lbs occasionally, and 20lbs regularly.
  • Demonstrate skill in operating equipment.
  • Resolve practical problems and manage variables with limited standardization.
  • Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Read a minimum of Jaeger2 or equivalent type and size letter at a distance of no less than 12inches.
  • Utilize basic computer skills (Word, Excel, type, email, etc.).
Mathematical Skills
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Compute rate, ratio, percent, and mass; interpret bar graphs.
  • Use instruments:
    Scale in 1/8", 1/16", 1/32", 1/64” increments; 12”–72” long;
    Protractor head;
    Diameter tape at 100’s increments;
    Micrometers; 6” Vernier caliper; 50’ tapes;
    Ring gauges; squares; levels; line levels; various tape measures; conversion charts;
    Tri‑square; string line; feeler gauges; overhead scale; dial indicators; calipers.
Communication
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate with employees via conversation or in writing.
  • Read and interpret product specifications such as work orders and travelers.
  • Effectively present information to management.
  • Speak before groups and/or customers.
  • Read, speak, and write English for product specification interpretation and safety materials comprehension.
Travel

Negligible.

Environment

Work most effectively in an industrial workshop field setting; manage tools, inventory, and equipment. Wet and humid conditions, subject to outdoor weather such as heat. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Moderate to high noise. Must work morning, evening, & night shifts, including rotating shifts as applicable.

Training and Education
