Position Summary:

Hillwood Properties is looking to hire an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor at our Union House property located in Aubrey, TX. This individual is responsible for assisting in organizing the maintenance programs for the property.

Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to and complies with company safety policies and rules and wears personal protective equipment as directed.
  • Adheres to OSHA safety standards that are applicable for the safe performance of the job.
  • Compliance with MSDS laws and regulations.
  • Works hands-on to ensure market-ready, occupied and preventative maintenance is performed within a timely manner following preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Completes appliance repairs, plumbing repairs, drywall repairs, electrical repairs, welding, carpentry, painting, and HVAC repairs.
  • Installs appliances and electrical fixtures as required.
  • Completes service request within 24 hours.
  • Moves appliances, with assistance, using a dolly.
  • Installs, repairs and rekeys deadbolt locks.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly shop.
  • Communicates with the Maintenance Supervisor on shop inventory needs.
  • Adheres to Hillwood key procedures.
  • Reports any maintenance problems.
  • Assist with resident functions as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be prompt, on time to work and have good attendance.
  • Maintains courteous and helpful demeanor with residents, prospective residents, co‑workers, vendors, etc.
  • Work on‑call, overtime, weekend, holiday, and evening work as required.
  • Must have mode of communication in which to be contacted at home and respond within a reasonable amount of time in case of an emergency. (Reasonable amount of time is within 30 minutes of first contact).
  • Must wear company uniform with photo I.D. badge during work or overtime / on‑call hours.
  • Must be a team player with management and all associates.
  • Complies with all policies as outlined in the Operations Manual.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by co‑workers.
  • Able to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems.
  • Must be able to complete assigned tasks as directed by the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Reliable transportation.

Education and Experience:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years on‑site multi‑family maintenance experience.
  • General knowledge of city codes and laws applicable to the property. (Freon recovery, electrical, plumbing, pool operations.)
  • HVAC Certification
  • Pool Operator Certification
  • Electrical Certification
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lifts and carries up to 45 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries up to 80 pounds.
  • Pushes and or pulls appliances using appliance dolly up to 200 pounds.
  • Moves objects from one floor to another.
  • Frequently bends/stoops, climbs stairs, kneels, balances, reaches above shoulder height, walks, and twists.
  • Has normal range of vision, hearing and speech.

Equipment and Material Used:

  • A/C Gauges, Recovery Unit, Welding Torch, Electrical Power Tools
  • Associates are responsible for obtaining handheld tools. Appliance dollies, ladders and larger equipment to be provided by company.
