Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is looking for a Facility Operator in the Wimberley area (Kyle, Maxwell, San Marcos). The role reports to the Field Supervisor and supports the operation of water production, wastewater treatment, lift stations, booster stations, distribution, and wastewater collection systems.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain equipment at water production facilities and booster stations.
- Operate and maintain distribution systems including mains, valves, hydrants, and service lines.
- Maintain equipment at wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.
- Operate and maintain sewer collection systems including mains and pump stations.
- Troubleshoot and repair service piping and related equipment.
- Perform routine water quality analysis according to established processes.
- Adjust chemical treatment to meet state and federal standards, calculating ratios and dosages.
- Complete customer service work orders, update documentation, and close work orders per policy.
- Perform all tasks safely, professionally and in accordance with company policies and local, state and federal laws.
- Assist with other tasks or projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Minimum license requirement of C Water or C Wastewater for FO I.
- Dual licensing of C Water and C Wastewater for FO II.
- Dual licensing of at least a B or higher for Water and B or higher for Wastewater for FO III.
- Basic computer skills in database, spreadsheet, and word processing.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Mathematical ability for calculations of ratios, dosages, and volumetric measurements.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Team player with ability to foster a multi‑tasking environment.
- Subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet/humid conditions, mechanical, electrical, gas exposure, fumes, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Travel to Essential Utilities work sites.
- Available for on‑call nights and weekends to support 24/7 operations.
