A lineman in the oil and gas industry plays a crucial role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical power transmission and distribution systems. Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power lines and associated equipment.
• Participate in the construction of new power lines or expansion of existing ones.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues or equipment failures.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines to ensure personal safety and prevent accidents.
• May be required to respond to power outages or emergencies, particularly during severe weather conditions or equipment failures.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Often work as part of a team, coordinating with other technicians, engineers, and supervisors.
• May receive ongoing training and development opportunities to stay updated on industry regulations, safety practices, and technological advancements in the field of power transmission and distribution.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a recognized lineman apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education and field experience preferred.
• Journeyman Lineman certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a lineman or in electrical utility construction and maintenance preferred.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred;
  Class A CDL with air brake endorsement is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical distribution and transmission systems, overhead and underground power line construction, substations, transformers, switches, and related electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, blueprints, construction drawings, and technical manuals.
• Strong understanding of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), OSHA regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local electrical standards.
• Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
• Proficient in identifying electrical faults, performing outage restoration, and safely operating energized and de-energized electrical systems.
• Ability to safely operate bucket trucks, digger, and other utility equipment.
• Must possess a strong commitment to safety and consistently follow all company safety policies, electrical safe work practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Ability to respond to emergency callouts, storm restoration, and after-hours work as required.
• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
