Day Shift Plant Maintenance Mechanic

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Day Shift Plant Maintenance Mechanic to support safe, reliable operation of our manufacturing facility. In this role, you'll inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment such as conveyors, crushers, pumps, and mixers. You will perform preventive maintenance, install and align machinery, and respond to breakdowns to minimize downtime. Working in a safety-focused, collaborative environment, you'll follow LOTO and OSHA standards, use hand and power tools, read mechanical drawings, and support continuous improvement of plant reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant mechanical equipment including conveyors, crushers, pumps, and mixers
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
• Install, align, and commission new or rebuilt mechanical components and equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures and implement effective repairs
• Use hand and power tools, welding, and basic fabrication to repair or modify equipment
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and schematics to guide repair work
• Follow strict safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and OSHA guidelines
• Document maintenance activities in work order or CMMS systems and communicate equipment status
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and performance
• Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and other maintenance staff to prioritize work and minimize production impact
