Building Engineer

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking a highly skilled Building Engineer to join our global real estate services firm, specializing in the management and maintenance of commercial properties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety. Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure the continuous operation and maintenance of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life safety.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to uphold standards of major systems and prevent failures.
• Respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Manage and supervise HVAC preventive maintenance contracts to ensure timely service and operations.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as relates to building operations.
• Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians when necessary.
• Maintain logs and documentation associated with permits and inspections.
• Provide training and support to the building staff and occupants as needed regarding safety procedures and other relevant protocols.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
• Working knowledge of building management systems.
• Proficiency in tools and equipment used in building maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
