Traveling Low Voltage Access Control and CCTV Technician | Colorado City, TX & Houston, TX

Join Next Level Technician as a Traveling Low Voltage Access Control and CCTV Technician in Colorado City, TX or Houston, TX! Earn $24-$34/hr DOE, plus weekly pay, per diem, hotel accommodations, overtime opportunities and steady work with a national leader in low-voltage staffing.

Position Details
  • Pay: $24-$34/hour DOE
  • Travel Position - Travel throughout Texas as needed.
  • Per Diem Provided while traveling.
  • Hotel Accommodations Provided.
  • Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • Approximately 20 hours of overtime each week.
  • Work will include both indoor and outdoor commercial installations.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the installation and servicing of commercial security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, sensors, and security devices.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain access control hardware including card readers, maglocks, electric strikes, door contacts, REX devices, and control panels.
  • Install and troubleshoot CCTV systems, cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and surveillance equipment.
  • Conduct system design assessments and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to computer networking, low-voltage wiring, and electrical components.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts effectively during installation and repair tasks.
  • Configure and manage remote access software for system monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with clients on security system upgrades, service needs, and customization projects.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of service activities, system configurations, and technical reports.
  • Support additional low-voltage systems and integrations as needed.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Security Systems Technician, Access Control Technician, CCTV Technician, or related low-voltage role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking, telecommunications, access control, CCTV, and surveillance technology.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting security systems in commercial environments.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, and reading schematics.
  • Electrical experience with low-voltage wiring, cabling techniques, and NEC standards.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm systems, lock mechanisms, intrusion systems, and security integrations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving system design, remote access software, and alarm systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to customer service.
  • Manufacturer certifications, BICSI, OSHA-10/30, Lift certifications, and security licensing are a plus.
  • Must have basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, and steel-toe boots).
  • Willingness to travel to job sites throughout Texas.
