Location: Three Rivers

Plains is seeking an Instrumentation and Control Technician to support reliable, safe operation of our pipeline and terminal assets. In this field-based role, you will install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, control, and automation systems across crude oil and NGL facilities. You'll work with PLCs, SCADA, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves while interpreting P&IDs and technical drawings. Partner with operations, engineering, and safety teams in a performance-driven, safety-first culture that emphasizes integrity, environmental stewardship, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control systems for pipeline and terminal operations
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on control equipment to ensure safe, reliable performance
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain PLCs, SCADA, and related automation hardware and software
  • Interpret P&IDs, loop sheets, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to support maintenance and projects
  • Respond to equipment alarms and system upsets, diagnosing root causes and restoring safe operation
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and safety teams to support system upgrades and capital projects
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, calibrations, and compliance documentation
  • Follow strict safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all field and facility activities
