Plains All American Pipeline is seeking a Field Service Technician to support safe, reliable operation of our crude oil and NGL pipeline and terminal assets. In this field-based role, you will perform inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance on pumps, valves, meters, and instrumentation, responding to alarms and outages to restore service. You'll execute preventive maintenance, document work thoroughly, and collaborate closely with control center and operations teams.
Working in a safety-first, performance-driven culture, you'll help ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards while gaining hands-on experience with large-scale midstream energy infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance on crude oil and NGL pipeline and terminal equipment
- Respond to alarms, outages, and operational issues to restore safe, reliable service
- Execute preventive maintenance, calibrations, and minor repairs on pumps, valves, meters, and instrumentation
- Support safe startup, shutdown, and testing procedures in accordance with Plains standards
- Document work performed, maintain service records, and use digital tools for reporting
- Collaborate with control center, operations, and safety teams to coordinate field work
- Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; participate in safety meetings and audits
- Assist with project commissioning, equipment upgrades, and reliability improvements
- Participate in on-call rotation and travel to various field locations as needed
- Identify and escalate equipment risks and improvement opportunities to supervision
