Role Description

The Conservatorship Caseworker is a full-time, on-site role located in Round Rock, TX. This role is responsible for managing cases involving children in state conservatorship, including assessing safety and well-being, developing service plans, and monitoring progress toward permanency goals such as reunification, adoption, or guardianship. Daily activities include conducting home and placement visits, interviewing children, families, and caregivers, coordinating services with community providers, and documenting case activity in accordance with agency policy and state regulations.

The caseworker collaborates with courts, schools, medical professionals, and other stakeholders, prepares written reports and recommendations, and participates in court hearings and multidisciplinary team meetings. The role also involves crisis response, timely decision-making, and advocacy to support the best interests of each child in care.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, engage families, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Candidates should possess Social Work knowledge and experience, including understanding of child welfare, family systems, trauma-informed care, and community resources.
  • Candidates should possess Case Management and Casework skills to assess needs, develop service plans, coordinate services, and maintain comprehensive case documentation.
  • Relevant skills and qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field; familiarity with child protective services or public sector work; ability to manage a demanding caseload; and proficiency with electronic case management systems.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include fluency in more than one language, a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for field visits, strong organizational and time management skills, and resilience when working in emotionally challenging situations.
