TreatmentSpecialist Position Summary
The Treatment Specialist is primarily responsible for the provision of therapeutic family intervention to youth involved in the juvenile justice system.
The Treatment Specialist conducts assessments, develops treatmentplansand works collaboratively with Juvenile Justice Department representatives and youth’s caregivers to achieve the successful completion of youth services and prevent initial and re-placements.
The Treatment Specialist also prepares court reports and provides testimony and/or family support in juvenile courts as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reviews program referrals and determines appropriateness of referral.
- Conducts intake assessments, including gathering data from caregivers, youth, stakeholders, and other relevant sources.
- For Family Reunification Services, collaborates with juvenile justice representatives to assess readiness for placement discharge, complete discharge planning and successfully complete the transition into the family home
- Utilizes diagnostic and assessment information, develops preliminary and comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with youth systems and juvenile justice representatives.
- Provides therapeutic family driven interventions to youth and families with the goal to successfully maintain the youth in community.
- Serves as a case manager on behalf of program participants, providing linkages with stakeholders and community providers.
- Provides on-call and crisis intervention services as needed.
- Completes all required documentation, in timelines in accordance with program standards.
Masters in Social Work or related clinical degree and one (1) year post-graduate experience in providing clinical services to families and children. Prior related experience may be substituted for one (1) year post-graduate requirement. Assessment and treatment planning experience needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have a valid State of Texas driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and an understanding of clinical issues affecting families in thejuvenile justice andchild welfare system.
Starting Rate: $19.23/hour
