Position SummaryFeed Haul Driver - Pittsburg, TX. Reports to the Feed Haul Supervisor/Manager. Feed Haul Drivers are responsible for the transportation of poultry feed from the mill to farm sites, as well as the completion of related documents.
Responsibilities include:
- Drive and operate tractors and trailers to transport poultry feed from the mill to farm sites.
- Complete necessary documentation and records for deliveries.
- Perform pre/post inspection of the truck and trailer and use all required PPE.
- Use automated systems to load feed in a safe and efficient manner.
All Driver Qualifications are as follows:
- Valid Class A CDL
- Good safety/driving record
- Must pass federal drug and alcohol test and DOT physical
- At least one year of driving experience with tractor/trailer on public roadways
- Ability to operate a manual CMV
- Safety is a condition and must be treated as such
- Accurate delivery records and ability to follow delivery instructions
- Good driving skills; a driving test will be administered
- Driving record maintained to company safety minimum requirements
- Knowledge of basic DOT guidelines and state/federal traffic laws relevant to commercial driving
- Working knowledge of tractor trailers or combinations
- Able to drive in narrow/tight conditions and adverse weather/nighttime conditions
- Good communication and teamwork; ability to follow management/dispatch directions
- Trainers will provide instruction on electronic logs and company policies
- Training includes pre/post inspections and invoice reading for loading and delivery
- After training, able to work with little supervision on farms, including night or rotating shifts as set by management
Note:
Mechanical breakdowns may alter shifts; shifts will follow DOT rules and regulations. Job assignments may include duties outside driving and may require travel to other departments.
