Location: Woodson

Director of Maintenance & Transportation

Woodson Independent School District – Woodson, Texas

Woodson ISD is seeking a highly motivated and dependable individual to serve as Director of Maintenance & Transportation. This position plays a critical role in keeping our district’s facilities, grounds, and transportation operations safe, efficient, and ready to support student success.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and perform maintenance, repair, and improvement of district facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general upkeep.

  • Supervise and coordinate custodial, grounds, maintenance, and transportation staff.

  • Manage and maintain the district’s bus fleet, vehicle inspections, routes, and driver scheduling.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety codes, state regulations, and district policies related to facilities and transportation.

  • Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and safety checks.

  • Support district safety and security initiatives, including emergency preparedness and transportation safety.

  • Work collaboratively with administrators and staff to respond to facility and transportation needs in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical preferred.

  • Prior experience in maintenance, transportation, or facilities management strongly preferred.

  • CDL with school bus endorsement (or willingness to obtain).

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to supervise personnel and work effectively as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of safety codes and regulatory requirements.
