The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate withthe candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.

Under direct supervision, operates a 15- 30 passengers’ bus in asafe and professional manner in accordance with an assignedschedule that is designed to ensure the timely and safe transportof students between pick up and drop off points within the university and selected off campus sites.

Responsibilities:

• Drive a 15-30 passenger bus in a safe and professional manner.
  
  Ensure the safe transport of students between pick-up and drop-offpoints within the university campus area and selected off campus sites. Operate Wheelchair and ADA access equipment associated withthe shuttle bus to ensure safe and professional accommodations forADA passengers. Operate a two-way radio and paging system in aprofessional manner. Person in this position will be required todrive state vehicles to various parts of campus and are considered essential when the university declares an emergency, campusclosure, class cancellations, etc.
• Provide seasonal driving services, using vans and other vehicles, to student-athletes, coaches and other athletic staff tovarious locations to participate in competions and practices and tobe seen by medical professionals. Keep required records associated with travel (relative time in use), mileage and gasolineconsumption. Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and ensure properlevels of fuel before and after each trip.
• Perform before and after operation maintenance, maintain logbooks, and submit all reports required by the Shuttle Bus Standardized Operating Procedures Guide. Work with special eventsand perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma .
• Two years of work experience .

• Demonstrate the ability to operate several types of buses andvans to the extent of maneuvering safely through congested trafficconditions, adverse weather and road conditions.
• Exhibit a high degree of mental concentration and independent judgment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

• Valid vehicle operator’s license and good driving record.
• Must be able to obtain State of Texas class 'B' vehicleoperator's license (Commercial Drivers License with passengerendorsement and air brakes endorsement) within 45 days of employment.
