Overview
The Forklift and Reach Truck Operators load, unload, transfer and stack product in the warehouse and trucks while meeting safety, quality and on-time delivery objectives. These roles are also responsible for correctly processing transfers through the warehouse management system and scanners.
Responsibilities- Accurately process factory transfers
- Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to transfer, load and unload product
- Use the PKMS (warehouse management system) through RF scanning
- Complete LTL and Will Calls
- Must be able to pick and task inventory accurately and damage free to the dock doors
- Responsible for accurate and timely completion of paperwork at the end of each shift
- Complete daily Pre & Post shift Forklift inspection. Report any problems to the supervisor immediately
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to all safety and quality standards at all times
- Attend and participate in daily safety meetings
- Follow all safety procedures and policies
- Proper PPE and uniform must be worn at all times during each shift
- Follow Good Housekeeping - Warehouse upkeep through sweeping and keeping area(s) organized and clean
- Perform additional duties as needed
- Works within well-defined instructions
- Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks
- Work is closely supervised
- Ability to successfully process (ex: Basic Loading and Unloading) factory transfers in a safe and efficient manner without damage and with minimal supervision
- Ability to successfully task outbound FTLs (full truck loads) error and damage free with minimal supervision
- Ability to safely operate a forklift, turret/reach truck and order picker – Must pass in-house forklift and reach truck training
- Knowledge of PKMS and scanning system preferred
- Ability to use WMS and scanning equipment
- Basic computer skills- MS Office – Outlook and data entry
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Effective organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to effectively establish positive working relationships with employees & customers
- Ability to understand and follow all Company rules, policies, procedures and requirements especially for safety, quality, delivery and productivity/cost
- Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job
- 3 plus years industrial forklift experience within a large-scale high-volume warehouse/distribution facility.
- WMS (warehouse management systems) experience

- High School diploma or GED
- Forklift and Reach Truck Certifications- provided by in-house training team (40hrs, forklift and 16hrs reach truck)
People Management: No
Physical Requirements / Work Environment- Capable of working eventually in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, and extreme cold in the Houston area.
- Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods of time per day.
- Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.
- Ability to frequently mount and dismount forklifts and cranes.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination.
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
