Feed Truck Driver Overview
As a feed truck driver, you will operate a feed truck and deliver feed to animals in an efficient and safe manner. This position will also perform daily equipment checklists and perform minor repairs as needed.
Essential Functions- Work with the applicable feed delivery software system (Digi-Star) to ensure that proper rations are loaded and fed to the proper bunk.
- Accurately load trucks to specified load size.
- Deliver feed to bunks in an evenly distributed manner.
- Notify appropriate personnel regarding repairs or maintenance needed.
- Follow equipment service checklist daily and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Communicate with other drivers about feed delivery overages/underages.
- Maintain housekeeping in the feed area.
- Ensure compliance with all ISO/HACCP and OSHA/safety procedures, rules and regulations.
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills.
- Adequate mathematical skills:
Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide numbers. - Knowledge of cattle feedlot industry highly desirable.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours as required.
- This individual must have the ability to work with a team, or individually.
- Ability to communicate in English is preferred, not required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks when appropriate.

Supervisory Responsibilities- None
- You will be required to work at times in extreme weather conditions, such as rain, snow, wind, heat, cold.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays when shift requires.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to work extended hours 10-11 hours per day.
- This individual must be able to occasionally lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to lift body with three points of contact up 3-4 vertical steps 4 feet up into truck 25-30 times per day.
- Use step ladder and balance body while reaching to clean windows and mirrors on feed truck.
- Must be able to scoop out 30-200 pounds of feed with a shovel daily.
- Must be able to climb in and out of 24 inch tall bunks.
- Drive and maneuver feed truck with one hand and operate controls with the other hand.
- Bend, stoop, climb, and twist to perform preventative maintenance, not limited to carrying 20lbs of truck fluid to top of engine.
- Operate a shop broom to sweep feed.
- Must be able to climb under feed truck to perform preventative maintenance on knees and/or mechanic creeper once a week.
- Must be able to climb into the bed of the truck via 3ft x 3ft opening to perform maintenance.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-3 month’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
