Penske Logistics is seeking a Lead Warehouse Worker to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for safety-focused, dependable individuals with a positive attitude who are looking to grow in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

In this role, you will provide leadership and support to both regular and temporary warehouse associates while assisting with daily warehouse operations. You will work closely with Operations Supervisors to help ensure productivity, quality, and safety expectations are consistently met. The Lead Warehouse Worker is responsible for coordinating workflow, supporting team performance, and carrying out a variety of operational duties to help achieve departmental goals and maintain efficient warehouse operations.

Sunday - Wednesday 2:30pm to finish

Responsibilities
  • Monitor workflow throughout the shift, proactively identify operational issues, resolve problems, and adjust priorities to maintain efficiency in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Serve as a resource for associates by answering questions, providing training, supporting conflict resolution, and stepping into frontline warehouse roles as needed to ensure customer commitments are met.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment, including stand-up forklifts and electric pallet jacks (EPJ), to move, stage, load, unload, and store materials safely and efficiently.
  • Lead and support a team of warehouse associates by providing daily direction, coaching, and coverage to ensure productivity, safety, and operational goals are achieved.
  • Promote and lead safe work practices by maintaining a clean work environment, following all company safety policies, and supporting food safety and quality requirements where applicable.
  • Assist with opening and running the shift, including conducting shift huddles in the absence of the Operations Supervisor, communicating priorities, and providing timely updates on attendance and operational performance.
  • Cross-train in multiple warehouse functions during the first 90 days, with the ability to perform and provide coverage for roles such as order selector, forklift operator, sanitation, and clerk as business needs require.
  • Perform additional operational, administrative, and leadership responsibilities as assigned to support business needs, including covering for other leads or supervisors during absences and ensuring all daily work is completed before the end of the shift.
  • Other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • 2 years of warehouse experience required.
  • 2 years of inventory or materials management experience preferred.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior forklift experience required.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Ability to learn and use proprietary software required.
  • Flexible to work overtime required.
  • Ability to work in a cold storage environment required.
  • Ability to lead a small team, work independently, provide customer service, multitask, organize, remain flexible, exhibit strong numeracy, manage time, and execute tasks.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Willingness to work the required schedule and location.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
