Assistant Operations Manager

Ryder System is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support daily logistics and warehouse operations in a fast-paced transportation environment. In this role, you'll coordinate inbound/outbound freight, staffing, and workflow to meet safety, service, and productivity targets. You will track KPIs, assist with labor planning, help resolve service issues, and ensure compliance with company and DOT standards. Partnering closely with supervisors, drivers, and customers, you'll help implement process improvements, support inventory and yard management, and foster a safety-first, high-performance culture with clear communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support daily warehouse and transportation operations to meet safety, service, and productivity goals
• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight, staffing, and workflow scheduling
• Monitor KPIs and operational reports, escalating issues and recommending improvements
• Assist with labor planning, timekeeping, and resource allocation
• Ensure adherence to Ryder, customer, and DOT safety and compliance standards
• Support inventory control, yard management, and equipment utilization
• Help resolve service issues and communicate with internal teams and customers
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and cost savings
• Coach and support front-line staff on procedures, safety, and performance expectations
• Contribute to a safety-first, accountable, and teamwork-oriented culture
