• Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the pediatric acute and critically ill patient.
• Organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the individualized, family-centered, holistic plan of care.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Participate in MCCH initiatives and process improvement.
• Maintain high-quality age-specific care for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and young adult population.
• Be willing to switch shifts for periods of time based on facility needs.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Neonate Resuscitation obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas or Compact license.
• Associate’s degree required; if hired after 06/01/2012, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience with competency to float to other units within Tier 2 (PICU, CICU, NICU Level IC, Peds ED, Stem Cell Transplant). PICU/NICU experience also needed.
• Current AHA or ARC BLS provider.
• Effective 8/1/2015 AHA or ARC PALS required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• Effective 8/1/2015 American Academy of Pediatrics NRP required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• Preferred certifications: CCRN, CPEN, RNC‑NIC, CPHON, BMTCN.
• Minimum of 3 years RN experience.
