Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, the Plant Care Attendant is responsible for maintaining the health and appearance of plants and landscaped areas throughout the park. Primary duties include watering plants, identifying visible plant health concerns, and setting up or moving watering equipment as needed to support plant care activities. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Essential Functions
- Water plants, planters, and landscaped areas based on plant care needs and weather conditions.
- Monitor plant appearance and soil moisture to support overall plant health.
- Set up, move, and store hoses, sprinklers, and watering equipment as needed.
- Identify and report visible plant health concerns, irrigation issues, or damaged planters to the Operations Manager.
- Maintain landscaped areas by removing debris or obstructions that interfere with plant care activities.
- Follow applicable safety guidelines while performing plant care tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to independently plan and manage a work schedule based on plant care needs.
- Availability to perform plant care tasks during operating and non-operating hours as needed to maintain plant health, with scheduling coordinated in advance with the Operations Manager.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs., bending, standing, and walking for extended periods of time in various weather conditions.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, reach, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, and maintain balance.
- Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is generally low to moderate.
