Your Role as Security Lead
  • Install, configure, and maintain access control systems, including but not limited to card readers, biometric systems, magnetic locks, electric strikes, and control panels.
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on access control hardware and software to ensure proper functionality and security compliance.
  • Program and integrate access control systems with other security systems such as CCTV, alarm systems, and building management systems.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements, including cable runs, equipment placement, and system design.
  • Pull, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (e.g., CAT5/6, RS-485) for access control devices and related systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and team members to ensure timely completion of installations and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, wiring diagrams, and equipment installations.
  • Provide training and technical support to clients on the operation and functionality of installed systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and local building codes during all phases of work.
  • Assist in overseeing and mentoring junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
What We're Looking For
  • Proficiency in installing and maintaining access control systems from major manufacturers (e.g., HID, Honeywell, Lenel, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, including wiring, circuit design, and power supplies.
  • Experience with programming and configuring software for access control systems.
  • Familiarity with related tools and equipment, such as multimeters, cable testers, drills, and crimping tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail for diagnosing and addressing system issues.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for traveling to job sites.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on project needs.
