Shop Service Technician

Holt Group is seeking a Shop Service Technician 2 to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment in our shop. In this mid-level role, you will inspect machinery, troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues, and complete scheduled services and component replacements. You'll use diagnostic tools and technical manuals, document all work performed, and collaborate with senior technicians on complex repairs.

This position is hands-on, safety-focused, and ideal for technicians ready to advance their skills in a busy, equipment-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment and machinery in the shop
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and component replacements
• Use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical schematics to troubleshoot issues
• Order and install parts, ensuring proper fit and function
• Document work orders, labor hours, and parts used in maintenance systems
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Collaborate with senior technicians and supervisors on complex repairs
• Test equipment after repair to verify safe and reliable operation
