Bookkeeper/ Accounting Clerk, Office Administrator/ Coordinator
A locally owned septic services company in The Dalles is hiring a Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant to support the company's financial and office operations. This role is heavily focused on bookkeeping, including managing financial records, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and additional responsibilities providing administrative assistance, customer support, and office coordination. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team.
REQUIREMENTS- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum one (1) year of bookkeeping experience with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Experience with bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, billing statements, payment deposits, and vendor payments.
- Maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank accounts and company credit card statements, researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end bookkeeping tasks.
- Maintain organized financial and administrative records in both electronic and paper filing systems.
- Answer phone calls, assist customers, and schedule services for clients.
- Assist the Vice President/Manager with proposals, client files, and other administrative tasks.
- Perform other bookkeeping, clerical, and office support duties as assigned.
- 8:30AM - 4:30PM;
Monday - Friday
- $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Paid training is provided for all new hires. Employees typically begin in the lower portion of the pay range while learning company procedures, software, and job-specific responsibilities. Compensation is reviewed as training milestones are achieved and additional responsibilities are assumed.
BENEFITS- One week of paid vacation after one year of employment.
