Role Description The Owners EHS Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in The Dalles, OR., responsible for representing the owner’s interests in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) matters on data center and large commercial construction projects. This role oversees site safety practices, monitors contractor compliance with EHS standards, and participates in regular safety inspections and audits. The Owners EHS Representative supports incident reporting and investigation, tracks corrective actions, and maintains accurate EHS documentation and metrics.

Daily activities include attending coordination meetings, providing safety briefings, reviewing method statements and risk assessments, and collaborating with project management and trade partners to proactively identify and mitigate risks. The role also helps promote a strong safety culture on-site through coaching, training reinforcement, and clear communication of expectations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in construction safety, EHS oversight, or industrial health and safety on large commercial or data center projects.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, relevant local and state safety requirements, and best practices for construction site safety.
  • Ability to conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, and to document findings clearly and accurately.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in a professional manner.
  • Proven organizational skills, including attention to detail, time management, and consistent follow-through on corrective actions.
  • Comfort with using standard office and project tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, safety reporting systems) for documentation and reporting.
  • Relevant safety certifications (such as OSHA 30, CHST, CSP, or equivalent) are strongly preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, construction management, engineering, or a related field is beneficial, or equivalent practical experience.
  • NFPA 70e knowledge and experience is a must
