We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of High School CTE Teacher – Computers (Information and Communication Technology). This role focuses on developing students’ academic and interpersonal skills through computer applications, design, programming, and workplace use.
Job Purpose Statements- Develop students’ academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses and implemented district-approved curriculum.
- Document teaching, student progress, and outcomes.
- Address specific educational needs.
- Provide a safe and optimal learning environment and feedback regarding student progress.
- Education: BA/BS or higher degree (required) with major in Curriculum, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or a content area such as Math, Science, Language Arts, etc.
- License: Valid Oregon Teaching License and endorsements from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission; eligibility for Career and Technical Teaching licensure.
- First Aid: Must hold a current recognized first aid card or be willing to obtain one if directed.
- Skills: Ability to motivate students, communicate across diverse backgrounds, evaluate performance, and direct support personnel.
- Knowledge: Age-appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code, instructional subject matter.
- Provide varied classroom techniques and methods.
- Promote high achievement relative to student abilities.
- Use appropriate methodologies and subject matter.
- Demonstrate research-based instruction principles.
- Organize instruction with clear student outcomes.
- Employ strategies aligned with student outcomes.
- Monitor learning and adjust pace.
- Maintain effective learning environment.
- Develop classroom behavior rules and enforce them.
- Communicate course goals and expectations.
- Ensure health and safety of students.
- Prepare lessons, daily plans, and aligned content.
- Develop and communicate grading standards.
- Develop positive interpersonal relationships and model respectful behavior.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with staff, students, and parents.
- Provide documentation of student progress and feedback.
- Assign and check homework with feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of performance.
- Build motivation and interest in learning.
- Maintain current awareness of subject literature and activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and development.
- Participate in professional workshops and district-sponsored in-service offerings.
- Maintain professional judgment and punctual attendance.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- Bilingual/Bi‑Cultural applicants are highly desirable.
