Bilingual Preschool Promise Coach

The Bilingual Infant & Toddler Coach duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Reflective and Relationship-based Coaching to Preschool Promise Educators:
  Build and maintain trusting relationships with early education programs and educators, facilitate a Community of Practice for PSP educators, conduct regular observations, and provide or coordinate professional development based on educators’ identified needs.
• Consultation to Support Preschool Promise Implementation:
  Engage educators through consultations to promote continuous improvement aligned with Oregon Early Learning Guidelines, NAEYC Professional Standards, and PSP Standards, and provide support and resources to strengthen program services.
• Encourage Developmentally Appropriate and Best Practices in Preschool Promise Programs:
  Use targeted coaching strategies and reflective sessions to support goal setting, action planning, data review, and observations; provide resources that support dual‑language development and social‑emotional growth.
• Continuous Professional Development in Coaching Practice:
  Participate in ongoing coaching with ELSI Mentor Coaches and the TRI Coaching Community of Practice, and support and advocate for Preschool Promise programs, educators, and quality early learning initiatives.

• Knowledge of how children from birth to five (5) learn within the context of ongoing, meaningful relationships with important adults in their lives.
• Thorough understanding of the needs of preschool children, their families, and those who work with them.
• Knowledge of how programs engage families in partnerships.
• Strong knowledge of effective teaching practices.
• Two (2) years of experience providing technical assistance and training, including coaching, to early education programs.
• Experience supporting the primacy of families, their home languages, cultures, and engagement.
• Knowledge of inclusive practices in preschool programs.
• Knowledge of how to best support the early learning workforce in all settings.
• Effective techniques of adult learning and relationship‑based coaching practices.
• Knowledge of early learning quality assessment tools or willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of child assessment and screening tools or willingness to learn.
• Bilingual, Biliterate (English/Spanish) required.
• Experience promoting equity‑minded and diversely represented communications and materials, and responsiveness to diverse backgrounds relating to equity‑minded practices.

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Studies, or a related field; or Oregon Registry Step 10, required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Oregon Registry Master Trainer preferred or willingness to work toward a Master Trainer Credential.
• Two (2) or more years of experience in an early childhood program focused on preschool‑aged children.
