Job DescriptionNorth Wasco County School District is pleased to announce that we are seeking qualified applicants for the Elementary Teacher Mental Health Program K‑5. The district includes three elementary schools.

- $47,930 – $95,933 (non‑PERS)
- $50,988 – $102,055 (PERS)
The Elementary Classroom Teacher is hired to develop students’ academic and interpersonal skills through the district’s approved curriculum, document teaching and student progress, address specific educational needs, provide a safe learning environment, and give feedback to students, parents, and administration.
Qualifications & Licensure- BA/BS or higher degree (required) with a major in Curriculum, Elementary Education, Reading, Early Childhood Education, or similar
- Valid Oregon teaching license meeting Highly Qualified Requirements
- Knowledge of age‑appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum, education code, and instructional subjects
- Willingness to teach any qualified subject area
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse students and families
- Provide a variety of classroom techniques and methods.
- Promote high achievement for all students.
- Use student‑centered instructional strategies.
- Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with district standards.
- Maintain a positive learning environment with clear behavior rules.
- Assess and document student progress; provide timely feedback.
- Manage classroom materials and records accurately.
- Collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and plan growth activities.
- Work effectively with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Maintain professional appearance and punctual attendance.
- Communicate regularly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Follow district policies and procedures.
- Protect confidentiality of student and family information.
