Responsibilities
- Perform SCADA, DACS, Distributed Control System (DCS), PLC related installation, commissioning, testing, repair, and maintenance activities of intra-project, inter-project, and inter-agency systems.
- Implement and ensure regulatory requirements on bulk electric system equipment by testing, recording and reporting results on various electrical and electronic equipment.
- Provide direct support for installation and commissioning, upgrade, inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance of electronic and electrical systems pertaining to power generation and ancillary equipment of hydropower project.
- Occasionally performs lower level electrical/electronic duties to ensure continuity of project operations.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre‑employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
- The position requires the ability to lift heavy objects specific to the position, vision for distance, distinguishing colors and calibrations, appropriate hearing capability for conversation and warning signals.
- Must possess a valid State driver's license.
- Appropriate levels of certification must be obtained and maintained in accordance with applicable DoD, Army and NWD policies.
- Position requires Information Assurance (IA) Certification and Training pursuant to the requirements outlined in regulations DoD 8570.01‑m (11/2015) and AR 25‑2 (3/2009).
- Information Assurance Technician II level certification is required per Negotiated Agreement for Information Assurance (I/A) Certification and Training between United Power Trades Organization, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division.

Experience may be paid or unpaid, including volunteer work done through National Service programs such as Peace Corps or Ameri Corps. No specific length of training or experience is required; however, demonstrable knowledge, skills and abilities are needed to perform the work without more than normal supervision.
- Ability to do the work of the Electronic System Control Craft worker without more than normal supervision.
- Ability to use hand and power tools (electronics).
- Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, and repair.
- Theory of electronics.
- Troubleshooting of electronic equipment.
- Use of test equipment for electronics.
- Physical effort: handling heavy parts and equipment, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and twisting objects up to and occasionally over 45 pounds, standing for long periods in cramped and hard surfaces, and maintaining mental and visual attention for troubleshooting and repair tasks involving complex drawings and manual dexterity.
- Working conditions include both indoor and outdoor environments, exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, grease, high noise levels, danger of serious injury from energized equipment, and risk of drowning when working above swift moving water. Ability to work in concrete structures and with potential toxic or caustic materials is required. Appropriate safety equipment must be worn at all times.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
- A one year probationary period will be imposed during which the agency evaluates fitness and continuation of employment.
