As a Water Operator
, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based in The Villages, FL
, you’ll perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with preventive maintenance, establishing and maintaining sample procedures for plant operations and effluent, and providing effective solutions to complex challenges. You’ll diagnose operating problems, make process control adjustments, and direct and perform necessary corrective actions. You’ll also prepare reports, collect samples, perform laboratory testing, determine proper chemical flow rates, maintain shift logs and perform other duties as required.

• Florida Water Treatment Level C or higher certification
• Must be over 21 years of age
• Experience with sound safety principles and practices
• Experience with computer operations with the ability to prepare spreadsheets and word processing documents, and enter information into a maintenance management system
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Work hours may include a 4 day / 10-hour schedule and will be discussed in more detail at a later date

• Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment; general maintenance work; safe work practices; principles and methods of biological and chemical sewage analyses; effects and problems of industrial waste in water treatment processes; principles of supervision
• Knowledge of computer day including Microsoft Office Suite, data management systems and ability to operate plant PLCs and SCADA systems

Safety is a core value s position requires substantial safety-sensitive labor. A pre-employment physical may be required to ensure fitness for essential duties. Physical and environmental demands include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance, agility, dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardboard-to-body tasks as applicable. Work areas may be indoor or outdoor with loud noise, active machinery, high pressure systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights, fumes, chemicals, and other hazards.

Safety equipment usage is mandatory in these areas.

May work at, be located at, or travel to water treatment plants, laboratories, warehouses or vehicle shops; site visits may involve exposure to heat, cold, weather, noise, dust, fumes, chemicals, and other hazards. Occasional work around water on slippery or uneven surfaces; confined spaces; machinery and moving equipment; and potential exposure to insects, animals, and other hazards.

The base salary range is $49,920.00 to $52,000.00, paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, pay is determined by location, skills, experience, and training.
