Diesel Mechanic (CDL) - 11111

We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic for assignment in The Villages, Florida. The selected candidate will maintain, diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical and powertrain systems on heavy-duty waste vehicles to ensure DOT compliance and operational safety.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 5:30am - 2:30pm

This position has a pay rate of $26- $29/hr

This position requires a valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)

• Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication of moving parts, tire rotations and brake adjustments
• Use computer diagnostic software and electronic diagnostic systems to interpret failure codes and identify issues in diesel engines and related systems
• Repair and rebuild faulty parts, including hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brake systems, transmissions, steering, suspensions and engines
• Maintain, repair and adjust hydraulic and pneumatic components, such as cylinders, hoses, pumps and motors, particularly on packer bodies
• Respond to roadside emergency calls for on-the-road breakdowns to diagnose and, if possible, repair equipment on-site
• Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and conduct safety checks on all heavy equipment
• Complete reports, work orders, order parts and perform other administrative duties as required daily; keep a detailed recording of work performed, parts used and labor hours
• Ensure all vehicles meet Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). OSHA safety standards
• Order and replace parts as necessary, ensuring inventory is properly managed
