Pump Station Mechanic

The Pump Station Mechanic installs, repairs, and maintains pumps, motors, electrical control systems, and related mechanical equipment at water/wastewater pump stations.

Pay: $25.00 - $25.69 per hour

• Install, overhaul, repair, service, and maintain pumps, motors, gas/diesel engines, meters, gauges, compressors, blowers, valves, and back checks
• Revamp pump stations and maintain 240/480 electrical system control panels
• Maintain well motors and A/C-D/C control systems
• Work with power tools; paint equipment as required
• Check, adjust, and test equipment; maintain service records
• Perform and participate in safe confined space entry practices
• Submit requisitions for equipment and materials
• Review, distribute, and complete work orders using CMMS
• Lift up to 80 pounds as needed
• Perform other related duties as required

• Reliable, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and self-motivated
• Knowledge of installation, repair, and maintenance methods for electrical motors, pumps, and mechanical equipment
• Ability to inspect equipment to determine operating conditions and needed repairs
• Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, or written/oral instructions
• Ability to use mechanic's tools and shop equipment
• Knowledge of 240/480 A/C-D/C control systems
• Ability to interpret and utilize SCADA systems
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
