Summit Technology Services has a contact position for a Document Controller in The Woodlands, TX
The Document Controller is responsible for establishing, communicating, and managing all document control requirements for the project. This role oversees the efficient organization, tracking, and distribution of all project documentation—including ownership and maintenance of the Master Document Register (MDR)—for both Baker Hughes and external suppliers. The Document Controller ensures proper revision control, timely document issuance, and accuracy of all data captured throughout the project lifecycle.
This position plays a key supporting role to the drilling execution team.
Develop, implement, and communicate document control procedures and requirements across the project team and supplier base.
Maintain full ownership of the Master Document Register (MDR), ensuring all documents are accurately tracked, updated, and stored.
Manage document workflows, including receipt, review, approval, distribution, and archival of project documentation.
Ensure strict revision control and version management for all documents.
Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely submission of documentation required for data capture, drilling operations, and project milestones.
Support the Project Manager and drilling execution team by providing up‑to‑date documentation and records as needed.
Monitor compliance with document control standards and project requirements.
Prepare document status reports and assist with audits when required.
Perform general administrative and documentation tasks as assigned.
3–5 years of experience in document control or a similar administrative/technical documentation role.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, drilling, and supplier teams.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (sorting, filtering, tracking, and data management).
Oil & Gas industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.
