Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Project Manager role based in The Woodlands, TX. The Project Manager will oversee heavy civil, and industrial construction projects from planning through closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams; developing and maintaining project schedules; monitoring progress and costs; and preparing regular status reports.

The role also involves managing procurement and expediting of materials and equipment, overseeing inspections and quality control activities, and resolving issues that may impact safety, timelines, or performance. The Project Manager will promote safe work practices, support continuous improvement, and represent Carlson McClain’s values of integrity and service on every project.

Qualifications
  • Strong project management skills, including Project Management and experience leading construction or industrial projects.
  • Experience in expediting and coordination functions, including Expeditor responsibilities and Expediting of materials and equipment.
  • Inspection and quality oversight skills, including conducting field Inspection and verifying compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Logistics Management capabilities, including planning deliveries, sequencing work, and coordinating resources across multiple stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of heavy civil, marine, or industrial construction practices, safety regulations, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency with project management software, scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project or similar), and basic office productivity applications.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively on-site and with external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems proactively, and make data-informed decisions under time constraints.
  • Experience working in Texas or Gulf Coast industrial environments and familiarity with regional regulatory requirements is beneficial.
