Adjunct Faculty, Psychology (Part‑Time)

Salary: $55.44 per contact hour

- Teach Psychology (PSYC) courses at a variety of times and locations.
- Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
- Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
- Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
- Meet with and advise students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
- Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
- Mastery of course content.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a collaborative, teamwork, and facilitation style.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development, and adult learning methodologies.
- Commitment to academic excellence and exceptional service, providing a dynamic climate for lifelong learning.
- Experience developing and implementing instructional approaches such as service learning/civic engagement, learning communities, and effective use of technology.
- Ability to use strategies to engage students in their learning.
The work is largely sedentary, involving occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, or driving. No special physical demands are required.
Work Schedule and Conditions- Work performed in climate‑controlled classroom and/or lab environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
- Hours vary depending on class time; instructors must be available to students outside of class instruction.
- Use of standard office equipment such as PC workstation, calculator, and phone.
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.
- Master's degree in psychology or a Master’s with 18 graduate hours in psychology.
- Alternatively, a Master’s in educational psychology or counseling psychology with 18 hours of graduate coursework completed in psychology.
