You have dedicated years to mastering structured literacy—Orton‑Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or a graduate degree in reading. You identify a child's reading miscue and pinpoint the exact phonemic weakness instantly. You build phonics instruction from scratch without relying on any scripted curriculum. That level of expertise is assumed. It is not what differentiates you.

What sets you apart is your ability to captivate six‑year‑olds the moment you enter the room. At Alpha, this position is first and foremost a Guide role: a dynamic, magnetic presence that children are eager to engage with. Your credentials in structured literacy open the door, but your capacity to hold the attention of a K‑2 group for a 20‑minute session is what determines whether you are hired.

If you do not naturally embody energy and presence with young learners, this position is not the right fit.

Alpha has discarded conventional teaching models. Academic content is delivered through AI‑adaptive applications that students navigate independently—no teacher‑led lectures, textbooks, or standardized pacing schedules. Your role represents the irreplaceable human element. You create targeted small‑group reading sessions based on live student data, and you facilitate motivation‑driven activities that ensure every child meets their weekly app targets using Alpha's proprietary motivational framework (school‑based currency, competitive leaderboards, developmentally appropriate game mechanics).

Your initial months focus on establishing trust and enthusiasm in the classroom. Workshops must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably effective. Student satisfaction metrics and "love your Guide" survey results (aiming for 90% or higher) serve as direct indicators of success. Once you prove your impact, your responsibilities expand: analyzing AI‑generated student performance insights to refine subsequent instruction, communicating fluency improvements and decoding progress to parents, and influencing the evolution of Alpha's early literacy strategy alongside adaptive technology.

As Alpha scales to additional campuses, the systems you develop will serve as the blueprint for nationwide reading instruction.

Before an offer is extended, you will submit a brief video in which you tell an engaging story suitable for young children, and you will complete a full‑day trial on campus working directly with K‑2 learners. Low energy or weak engagement with students will disqualify candidates regardless of academic credentials. This is intentional.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Creating and facilitating small‑group reading workshops for K‑2 students rooted in structured‑literacy frameworks (Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or comparable), informed by live student performance data
  • Running daily motivational sessions designed to ensure 100% of students achieve their weekly goals on adaptive learning apps, leveraging Alpha's motivational system (school currency, leaderboards, age‑appropriate gamification)
  • Conducting and interpreting running records, fluency assessments, and decoding diagnostics to measure student progress and refine instruction for upcoming sessions
  • Analyzing AI‑generated data from Alpha's adaptive platforms to differentiate instruction dynamically during sessions, not solely during preparation
  • Serving as the approachable,…
