You have invested years becoming an expert in structured literacy. Whether through Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or a Master's in reading instruction, you can identify a student's reading error and pinpoint the precise phonemic skill to address. You design phonics instruction from scratch without needing a scripted curriculum. That level of expertise is baseline. It is not what sets you apart.

What distinguishes you is that young children are genuinely excited to see you. At Alpha, this position is fundamentally a Guide role: a dynamic, magnetic presence that students enjoy learning alongside. Your structured-literacy background qualifies you for consideration; your capacity to captivate a K-2 classroom during a 20-minute workshop is what earns you the position. Alpha has reimagined conventional instruction. Academic content is completed independently by students through AI-adaptive applications — no whole-group lessons, no textbooks, no district-mandated pacing. Your position represents the one domain where a human specialist cannot be replaced. You build small-group reading workshops based on live student performance metrics, and you facilitate motivation sessions that ensure 100% of your learners reach their weekly app targets through Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification).

Your initial months focus on building rapport and trust. Workshops must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably impactful. Student satisfaction metrics and "love your Guide" survey results (goal of 90%+) provide direct measurement. Once you establish credibility, your responsibilities expand: analyzing AI-generated performance insights to refine upcoming instruction, communicating fluency progress and decoding milestones to families, and influencing how Alpha's K-2 reading framework develops in tandem with adaptive technology.

As Alpha opens additional campuses, your work becomes the blueprint for reading instruction across the organization.

Prior to an offer, you will submit a brief video recording in which you tell a captivating story suitable for young children, and you will complete a full day on campus engaging directly with K-2 students. Low energy with children is disqualifying, regardless of credential strength. This is an intentional approach.

• Creating and facilitating small-group K-2 reading workshops rooted in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent), informed by live student performance data
• Facilitating daily motivation sessions that ensure 100% of your learners meet their weekly adaptive-app targets, utilizing Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification)
• Conducting and evaluating running records, fluency probes, and decoding assessments to monitor progress and refine subsequent instruction
• Analyzing AI-generated performance insights from Alpha's adaptive learning platforms to differentiate instruction dynamically, not only during advance planning
• Serving as the approachable, energetic adult presence your K-2 learners are eager to engage with daily
