Electrical Reliability Engineer
Analyze existing predictive systems and assist in development of new electrical analysis technologies to identify equipment defects and anomalies. The electrical analyst will utilize advanced diagnostics and analytics using AI and ML for plant equipment such as motors, transformers, and HV/LV switch gear to lower total asset lifecycle costs and ensure safe operation.
PurposeUtilize existing tools and technologies such as smart relays, partial discharge, transformer health, power quality meter devices, safety relay access and DIGSI software for protection fault analysis. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) interfacing with operations and maintenance resources, prescribing action related to anomalies and defects discovered in our suite of digital platforms and technology. Support root‑cause failure analysis related to key equipment failures to promote continuous improvement initiatives.
PrincipleResponsibilities
- Broad and in‑depth technological and electrical expertise in MV/LV motors, transformers, and switch gear as well as common IT hardware and tools
- Analyze operational data and support continued development of electrical analytical tools and new predictive technologies regarding reliability, maintenance, total lifecycle cost, and safety
- Measure, track, and lead efforts to monitor and track Linde predictive tool installation
- Coordinate external data services with development providers for continuous improvement
- Support operations teams with RCFA’s as a consultant for electrical equipment defects and leverage learnings nationally
- Collaborate with Global EHC hubs to leverage global best practices
- Generate productivity projects related to electrical assets as a champion of continuous improvement
- Develop and manage the development and integration of electrical equipment in predictive monitoring applications
- Collaborate with Reliability Centers, Electrical Experts, CoE Experts, and plant managers to evaluate feedback on monitoring and diagnostic technologies
- Provide electrical system troubleshooting support
- Provide electrical monitoring tool training
- Collaborate with Linde Engineering and vendors/service suppliers for equipment and technology development

- Expert knowledge in electrical systems such as power distribution, transformers, and motors
- Good knowledge of diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques related to electrical systems and components (e.g., PD analysis, transformer health, SEL)
- Familiarity with motor startup procedures and equipment arrangements
- Basic knowledge of control systems, networks, and IT tools
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Experience in data science: analysing complex, high‑volume, high‑dimensional data from various sources to highlight patterns and relationships
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited)
- 10 years of relevant work experience in electrical systems within chemical or refining industrial complexes
- Experience in predictive technologies and development
- Detailed knowledge of electrical equipment and applications within production
